The correction substitutes the annexure 1, as related to ports of entry.

The amended regulations operate under the plant breeders’ rights act of 1976. The table detailing fees payable with respect to plant breeders’ rights is substituted.

These Regulations bans the sale of fresh fruit produced in or imported into South Africa and placed on the domestic market that do not meet quality standards as prescribed by these Regulations. It also spells out imported fresh fruits that may be exempted from the provisions of the regulations.

An amendment to section 18(1)(f) of the animal identification act of 2002.

The notice amends the control measures of the agricultural pests act. It substitutes table 10 of the control measures with a fees payable table.

The statutory measure applies to potatoes. It pushes to compel stakeholders of potato to register with the relevant administrators. It sees registration as a means to ensure availability of information to all players in the industry, to enable them make informed decisions. The measure lists out the parties mandated to register, and the registration process.

The statutory measure is subject to the marketing of agricultural products act of 1996. It applies to table olives and olive oil obtained from domestic consumption and/or imports; It states that: “A person shall have a choice to register as either a producer or as an importer or as a processor. A person who is a producer as well as an importer and/or processor, must register as a producer and as an importer and/or processor”. The measure is administered by HORTGRO services, and it compels parties to keep records and render returns, to ensure a level playing field in the industry.

This amends the environmental impact assessment regulations of 2014; subject to the national environmental management act of 1998. The amendments relate to the appointment of environmental assessment practitioners, competent authorities’s right of access to information, and submission and consideration of an environmental impact assessment report, among others.

The regulations are made under the marine living resources act of 1998. Its objectives include: to protect and conserve the marine environment and the marine biodiversity in the Amathole region, and to provide a sanctuary for species impacted by boat-based exploitation, among others.

The notice updates the schedules in the medicines and related substances act of 1965. Among other proclamations, It is explicitly stated that: “no person shall sell, have in his or her possession or manufacture any medicine or scheduled substance, except in accordance with the prescribed conditions”. The statutory measure applies to; designated animals, their red meat, and red meat products within the country, imported, and exported; and processed pork.

The notice of the minister states that; “no foodstuff which has been irradiated shall be sold unless the Minister or the Director-General has in writing, approved the sale of such irradiated foodstuffs. It defines irradiation as a deliberate exposure to ionising radiation.

The notice designates in the schedules of the environment conservation act of 1989, administrators and local authorities who may issue written authorization for the undertaking of activities as related to the Outeniqua Sensitive Coastal Area.

An amendment to section 18(1)(f) of the animal identification act of 2002.

The control measures are prescribed under the animal diseases act of 1984. The measures are to prevent the spread of avian influenza disease from the areas specified in the notice.

The regulations attempt to coordinate the processes in section 24M (3) of the national environmental management act of 1988, as it relates to the lodging and processing of an application for exemption.

“The minister, In terms of section 22(1) of the Environment Conservation Act, 1989, designates the competent authority, as defined in section 1 of the said Act (as amended by Proclamation R43 of 8 August 1996), in each province as an authority which may issue a written authorisation to undertake or cause to undertake identified activities specified by the government.

The statutory measure applies to milk. It provides a statutory mechanism for dairy producers to keep records and report returns to the administrator of the measure – the milk producers organization. It sees registration as a means to ensure availability of information to all players in the industry, to enable them make informed decisions. The records and returns to be kept are listed out.

The bush control scheme is established to prevent the invasion of certain plants, to maintain the production potential of lands, and to regulate the payment of subsidies out of funds set aside by Parliament for the purposes of this scheme. The scheme applies to lands specified in the act that has been invaded by the specified plant species.
