The act contains the regulations for the management of the childs bank marine protected area. The regulations are made subject to the relevant terms of the national environmental management: protected areas act of 2003. It states that the entire childs bank marine protected area is zoned as a single controlled Zone. Under the act, scientific research within the protected area is not permitted except licensed. It also details licensing processes, general restrictions, and control of activities, among others.
