The authorization applies to all land and water resources in South Africa. The authorizations are under the national water act of 1998. According to the act, “a person may only use water without a licence if the water use is permissible under the schedules, or if the water use is permissible as a continuation of an existing lawful use, or if that water use is permissible in terms of a general authorisation issued under section 39 of the national water act”. The authorizations do not affect the provisions of the national water act.

The regulations specify the qualification criteria and trainings for encironmental management inspectors, mandates, issuance of identity cards, contents and period of validity of the identity cards, duties of departments, and compliance notice.

The act pushes to protect consumers as regards; standards of consumer information, fair access to a sustainable marketplace for consumer products and services, and prohibition of unfair marketing practices among others. This represents efforts to move on from practices associated with the apartheid era.

The Act defines the nationality of South African ships. It provides for the registration of South African ships including fishing vessels, and for the establishment of the South African Ship Registration Office.

The notice is made under the environment conservation act of 1989. It identifies the activities that poses substantial detrimental effect on the environment in the specific coastal areas under review.

The amendment inserts definitions for textual correctness, addresses issues with electricity reticulation by municipalities, and extends the minister’s powers of regulation.

The act provides for the establishment of the national ports authority and the ports regulators. The act aims to promote productive ports in South Africa, for maximal contribution to the growth and development of the country, establish appropriate institutional arrangements to support the governance of ports; and to promote and improve efficiency and performance in the management and operation of ports, among others.

The policy is meant to be read along with the 2013 general policy on the allocation and management of fishing rights. The minister delegates powers of fishing rights allocation to officials of the department of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries. The objectives of allocating fishing rights include: to broaden meaningful participation, to promote food security, and to facilitate the recovery of over-exploited fish species. The policy sets out the criteria guiding evaluation, allocation and management of fishing rights in the traditional linefish fishery; it is to serve as a guide for a delegated official.

The regulations are subject to the water services act of 1997. It sets out details around basic sanitation, basic water supply, interruption in provision of water services, quality of water, sewerage system, use of effluent, and water services audit among others.

These are regulations to direct the procedures contained in chapter 5 of the national environmental management act of 1998, for the submission, processing,
consideration and decision of applications for environmental authorisation of
activities. Applications related to the regulations are decided by competent authorities.

The regulations amend the rules for conduct of matters before the national consumer tribunal in relation with procedural requirements; to make Regulations for matters relating to the functions of the tribunal, and rules for the conduct of matters before the tribunal.

This is amendment of regulations 2 of the mineral and petroleum resources development act of 2002. It relates to the application for permits and rights made in terms of the 2002 act.

The measure is administered by the HORTGRO services as a means to fund necessary projects and innovations for the development of the pear industry. It seeks to ensure availability of information to all stakeholders in the industry, to guide informed decisions. The measure applies to pears destined for export and/or domestic fresh consumption.

These norms apply to the hunting of all wild and alien animals. They are set out to ensure standardization of hunting methods. The specifications for hunting detailed in the notice include; minimum bullet weights for rifle hunting, minimum bullet weights and barrel lengths for handgun hunting, permissible bows for bow hunting, minimum requirements for bow hunting, minimum requirements for falconry, criteria to be met by gamebirds for inclusion in provincial hunting proclamations.

The policy covers the allocation and management of fishing rights in the KwaZulu Natal (KZN) sardine beach seine fishery. It sets out the criteria guiding evaluation, allocation and management of fishing rights in the KZN fishery; it is to serve as a guide for a delegated official. The policy is to be read in conjunction with the 1998 regulations under the marine living resources act, the 2013 general policy on allocation and management of fishing rights, and other relevant sector specific policy documents.

The minister extends the compliance and transitional measures period set out in terms of the regulations relating to foodstuffs for infants and young children made in terms of the foodstuffs, cosmetics and disinfectants act of 1972.

This serves as an amendment to the national water act of 1998. It effects textual improvements, and changes the procedure for the appointment of members of the water tribunal.
