Nigerian Urban and Regional Planning Act 1992.

This Act provides for physical and development planning in Nigeria and for the protection of environment from development. It establishes the Development Control Department and the Urban and Regional Planning Tribunal. It also requires, for the purposes of the initiation, preparation and implementation of the National physical development plans, the Federal, State and Local governments to establish and maintain respectively: (a) a National Urban and Regional Planning Commission; (b) a state urban and regional planning board in each of the states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja; and (c) a local planning authority in each of the local government areas and the area councils of the Federation.

It establishes The Institute and Incorporation of Animal Science. It also defines the functions of institute to prescribe and regulate the standards of academic qualification and practical skills to be attained by persons seeking to become registered as members, associates or fellows of the institute, establish and maintain a register of animal science practitioners under this act according to their various ranks and to regulate the prerogatives and privileges pertaining to those ranks, and advise and encourage the enactment and the enforcement of laws that will guarantee efficient production and consistent supply of high quality animal proteins to Nigerians.

Fertilizer (Control) Act

This is an Act to provide for the control of the sale and distribution of fertilizer and for matters connected therewith. This Act prohibits the dealing in, selling or distributing of fertilizer in any place not designated for the purpose of sale or distribution of fertilizer without the permission of the appropriate authority (as defined). The appropriate authority may declare any place to be an approved selling or distributing point for the purpose of selling or distributing fertilizer. Notwithstanding anything contained in any enactment, no person shall export fertilizer out of Nigeria. The Act defines other offences in respect of the handling of fertilizers, prescribes penalties for such offences and provides for measures of enforcement.

Indian Hemp Act.

This is an Act to provide among other things, for the vesting of the title of all land within the 100 metres limit of the 1967 shore line and all land reclaimed near the lagoon, sea or ocean in or bordering Nigeria exclusively in the Federal Government of Nigeria. It declares all the lands within 100 metres limit of the 1967 shoreline of Nigeria and any other land reclaimed from any lagoon, sea or ocean in or bordering Nigeria or of oceans bordering the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to the exclusion of any right accruing to anybody corporate or unincorporated or industry, to vest in the Federal Government of Nigeria. All such lands shall be controlled and managed for and on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria by the Federal ministry charged with responsibility for lands and land matters or any other authority designated by that Ministry for the purposes of this act. The act also provides for the regularization by the Federal Government of leases granted by any state or local government, individual or anybody corporate or unincorporated or any agency of the state or local government, in respect of any such land.

Nigeria Live Fish (Control of Importation) Act.

This is an act to regulate the importation of live fish; and for purposes connected therewith. It provides for the control of import of live freshwater fish. It emphasizes that no person shall import any live fish into Nigeria except in accordance with the terms of a licence under this act granted to him or her by the Minister, or in transit under prescribed conditions. A licence may be granted either unconditionally or subject to such conditions (including conditions relating to the fish when dead) as the Minister considers expedient for the purpose of avoiding the incidence or spread of disease or parasitic states among live fish in waters from which he considers that fish may be caught for consumption in Nigeria.
