This is the budget statement for the year 2014/2015 (1st of July – 30th of June). It covers the economic transformation for a shared prosperity in Kenya, recent economic developments and policy outlook, fiscal policy and budget framework, intergovernmental fiscal relations and division of revenue, medium-term expenditure framework and conclusion.

The budget statement describes the recent economic developments and the medium-term outlook, how to transform lives by creating jobs also known as the big four plan, the key strategic policy goals and a summary of the government’s spending plans for the fiscal year 2018/19 budget.

The primary goal of this policy is to enhance the contribution of the forest sector in the provision of economic, social and environmental goods and services. The framework highlights the management challenges and the strategies to solve them.

The Kenyan rice subsector has not received adequate attention in terms of policy and institutional support which has led to little growth of the sector in spite of the country’s huge potential. To this effect, this ten-year strategic framework was formulated to focus on what the ministry needs to accomplish its set goal to facilitate growth and development of the rice subsector.

Vision 2030 identifies the fisheries sector as one of the contributors to the food security of the country. With the artisanal fish farmers as the key players there is need for value addition, use of modern fishing technology and specific management plan targeting the small and medium sized pelagic fisheries. Therefore, this management plan was developed to ensure the sustainability of artisanal fishery for a very long-term by providing maximum social and economic benefits to improve the livelihood of fishers. This plan identifies the issues and potential resolutions, resources and procedures required to implement this plan.

The overall goal of Agricultural Sector Development Support is to transform Kenya’s Agricultural sector into innovative, commercially oriented and competitive sector to reduce poverty and food insecurity.

Agricultural sector development support programme II builds on the accomplishment of existing agricultural sector development support programme I as it retained the effective focus and approach of the previous agricultural sector development support programme. However, agricultural sector development support programme II adopts new structures that were not wholly realized during implementation of agricultural sector development support programme I. The document details the relationship between agricultural sector development support programme I and II, the context in which agricultural sector development support programme II would be implemented, the goals and objectives of the programme and the implementation arrangements.

National Food and Nutrition Security policy has a broad objective to achieve good nutrition for optimum health of all Kenyans.

This framework was developed to promote climate resilient and low carbon growth sustainable agriculture that ensures food security and contributes to national development goals in line with Kenya Vision 2030. it also gives an overview of the existing plans related to climate smart agriculture, points out strategic issues and their solutions.

The National agribusiness strategy aims at enhancing the development of agricultural sector to ensure domestic and international competition, provides information on agribusiness in Kenya and necessary implementation strategies.

The seed policy recognizes the impact of agriculture sector on the nation’s economy and addresses challenges faced by the sector in seed production, processing, quality control by providing measures to be followed by the government. first chapter of the document provides introduction to agriculture and Kenyan economy; chapter 2 presents seed industry problems and objectives of the policy; chapter 3 details research, development and extension; chapter 4 explores seed production, processing and quality control; chapter 5 details seed marketing and distribution; chapter 6 provides its institutional framework.

This is a parliamentary Act to give effect to article 43(1)(c) of the constitution on the freedom from hunger and the right to adequate food of acceptable quality; article 53(1)(c) of the constitution on the right of every child to basic nutrition and article 21 of the constitution on the implementation of rights and fundamental freedoms under the constitution; and for connected purposes. The Act provides for the right to food, establishment of the food security authority, management of the authority, establishment of county food security committees, establishment of information and mapping systems.

The Kenya defence policy articulates the government’s position on the employment of defence forces to strengthen national security. The white paper provides guidance by identifying Kenya’s security interests, spelling out Kenya’s intentions in dealing with threats to national security and spelling out the roles of defence forces in dealing with the security challenges.

This departmental policy was established to fast track the development of arid and semi-arid areas of Kenya.

These guidelines ensure that quality educational services are rendered in every early child development center; they also provide standards for quality & inclusive ECD services, management, supervision and accountability of early childhood development programmes for children in Kenya.

The broad objective of this policy is to guide effective counseling services in Technical Industrial vocational and entrepreneurship (TIVET) institutions in Kenya.

The plan focuses on the urgent need to enroll all students in basic education, raise literacy and numeracy levels, create a teacher education and development programme for basic education (pre-service), teacher education and development programme for basic education (in-service), and Information Communication Technology (ICT) for education and training. It also reviews macroeconomic performance from 2008 to 2012, the inputs expenditure estimates and trends in key indicators of education in Kenya.

The National Education Sector Plan (NESP) was developed to achieve the establishment of an administration that ensures the equal access to basic education, school system that delivers the compulsory core curriculum and a tertiary educational structure that fosters academic quality, rigor and research necessary for a knowledge based society and successful economy.

The objective of this manual is to create a safe and secure environment that facilitates quality teaching in all Kenyan schools. Highlights of the manual include introduction to school safety, importance of safe schools, indicators of school safety, safety standards and guidelines and monitoring and evaluation of the school Safety programme.

This is an Act to facilitate the promotion, co-ordination and regulation of the progress of science, technology and innovation of the country; to assign priority to the development of science, technology and innovation; to entrench science, technology and innovation into the national production system and for connected purposes. Key points of the act include the establishment of advisory research committees, licensing of research, establishment of the agency and national research fund.
