This represents the agricultural products for the purposes of the marketing of agricultural products act of 1996. It also highlights customs tariff classifications and product descriptions.

Subject to the farm feeds, agricultural remedies, and stock remedies act of 1947, the minister prohibits retail of products containing hyaluronic acid and its salts as farm feed.

An amendment to the “fees payable” section of the genetically modified organisms act of 1997.

The notice serves as an extension of the scope of the farm feed definition to include farm feeds which are prepared by/or prepared on behalf of any person in accordance with his directions for his own use.

The amended regulations in the schedules are with respect to: redefinition of “management plan”, deletion of words for textual correctness, trade in specimens of protected species, and management for persons who own or control elephants.

The regulations prohibit the sale, acquisition, disposal or use of Monocrotophos containing remedies. The regulations also prescribe penalties for non-compliance with this rule.

There is a substitution for different “breeds of animals” table in the schedules of the animal improvement act of 1998.

The purpose of these Regulations is to prescribe the procedure and requirements for
water use licence applications and appeals as contemplated in the sections of the national water act of 1998. A water use licence application, after submission to the responsible authority, shall be considered and finalized within 144 days from the date of acceptance of the technical report on water use licence.

The application of the norms and standards apply uniformly nationally and in all provinces, and to all stakeholders wishing to develop a BMP-S. The norms and standards provide a national approach and minimum standards for the development of biodiversity management plans for species.

The control measures aim to prevent the spreading of avian influenza disease from the entire Western Cape Province. It prohibits the export of ostriches, ostrich products, and ostrich genetic materials from the Western Cape Province, except on authority of a permit.

The statutory measure applies to cotton. It pushes to compel stakeholders of cotton to register with cotton South Africa. It sees registration as a means to ensure availability of information to all players in the industry, to enable them make informed decisions. The measure lists out the parties mandated to register, and the registration process. Cotton South Africa is appointed as an administrator of the statutory measure.

These Regulations bans the sale of avocados produced in, or imported into South Africa and placed on the domestic market, that do not meet quality standards as prescribed by these Regulations. It also spells out imported fresh fruits that may be exempted from the provisions of the regulations. The regulations specify classes and standards, parking and marking requirements guiding the sale of avocados in South Africa.

The minister sub-delegates the authority to issue permits relating to the bioprospecting activities involving indigenous biological resources and export from the Republic, of the indigenous biological resources for the purposes of bioprospecting, to the Director: Resource Use or the acting functionary in the position.

The control measures aim to prevent the spreading of classical swine fever (European Swine Fever or Hog Cholera) from the entire Eastern Cape Province. It prohibits the export of pigs, wild pigs, bushpigs and warthogs, as well as any of their products and genetic materials from the Eastern Cape Province, except on authority of a permit.

The notice substitutes table 1 on “fees payable” in the Regulations.

The notice extends the application of provisions of the interim protection of informal land rights act of 1996.

In terms of the national water act of 1998, the notice sets out a summary of the water resource classes for integrated units of analysis and ecological categories for the Lower Vaal. The integrated units of analysis (IUA) are classified in terms of their descending extent of permissible utilization and protection as either class 1, class 2, or class 3.

This serves as the assignment of provisions of the sea birds and seals protection act to the administrators of the provinces of Cape of Good Hope and Natal

The regulations apply to holders under the mineral and petroleum resources development act of 2002. The aim of the regulations is to manage the method for determining and making financial provision for the costs associated with the management of environmental impacts from prospecting, exploration, mining or production operations through the life of current mines, and those that may become known in the future.

The statutory measure aims to compel producers and exporters of the fruits, as well as people who act on their behalf, to keep records and report returns to the Citrus Growers Association (CGA) of South Africa. The CGA serves as the administrator of the measure. The measure hopes to ensure players and stakeholders have access to information necessary to take effective decisions. The measure applies to all export citrus fruits.
