It is stated that; an environmental impact report shall be prepared by applicants. The contents mandated to be in the report include; details of the proposed activity, including purpose, requirements, and extent; applicant’s details; details of other people involved; if the activity is part of a greater scheme; date of submission; and plan and sections of the activity.

The regulations are subject to the agricultural product standards of 1990. They specify classes and standards, parking and marking requirements guiding the sale of apples in South Africa. It specifically states that jams, jellies, and marmalades shall not be sold except standards outlined in these regulations are met. The regulations are baseline standards for the products sold in South Africa; the types, fruit content, and soluble solids content of jam, jelly, and marmalade is outlined in the regulations.

The statutory measure is subject to the marketing of agricultural products act of 1996. It applies to potatoes. The measure will be administered by an appointed administrator, and it compels parties to keep records and render returns, to ensure access to important industry information that will aid effective decision making. The parties mandated to keep records and furnish returns, and the details of records and returns to be kept are comprehensively spelt out.

The statutory measure sets out to enforce registration of specified parties with the South African Table Grape Industry (SATI), which is tasked with implementing the measure. Parties shall have the option to register as either a producer or an exporter, or both; for parties that both produce and export. The measure hopes to create a level playing field for players and stakeholders by ensuring access to accurate and timely information to guide their decision process. The measure applies to table grapes intended for export.

This represents the regulations laying down the procedure to be followed for the adoption of spatial tools or environmental management instruments in the sections of the national environmental management act of 1998. The minister is saddled with ensuring that the spatial tool or environmental management instrument indicates the purpose for which it was developed.

The amendment addresses the process of placing identification marks by means of tattooing in pigs.

The notice stipulates that; no person shall, at any place in South Africa not part of areas specified in section 3 of the sea birds and seals protection act of 1973, knowingly pursue, shoot, disturb, kill, or capture any seal except under an exemption or permit granted by the relevant authorities.

The notice lists activities and identify competent authorities under sections 24(2), 24(5) and 24D of the national environmental management act of 1998, where environmental authorisation is required prior to commencement of that activity in specific identified geographical areas only.

The measure is administered by the HORTGRO services as a means to fund necessary projects and innovations for the development of the pear industry. It seeks to ensure availability of information to all stakeholders in the industry, to guide informed decisions. The measure applies to plums destined for export and/or domestic fresh consumption. The amount of levy, and the persons by whom levy shall be payable are highlighted in the schedules.

The regulations relate to the management and handling of alien and invasive species in South Africa. Among others, it; categorizes the listed invasive species as contained in the biodiversity act of 2004; it sets out restricted activities; national framework of documents; risk assessment; issuance, amendment, and cancellation of permits; and compliance and enforcement guidelines.

The notice, operating under section 8 of the marine living resources act of 1998, recognizes the listed organizations as interest groups.

“No foodstuff, which has been irradiated shall be sold unless the Minister or the Director-General has in writing, approved the sale of such irradiated foodstuff”.

The regulations implement the provisions of the genetically modified organisms act of 1997, with respect to applying for permits to conduct activities concerning genetically modified organisms, and risk assessment of such activities. Procedures during accidents involving gentically modified organisms are also provided.
