The regulations herein apply to applications for authorisations, excluding applications for community based projects funded by a government grant or made by an organ of state. Applicants must pay fees before the date of submission to relevant authorities.

The entire Robben Island marine protected area is zoned as three controlled zones and a single restricted zone which is determined by using World Geodetic System (WGS) of 1984.
