The regulations provide for the inspection of export slaughter houses and introduce a system of identification of cattle for purposes under the Diseases of Animals Act. Inspection of export slaughter houses may be carried out by the Director of Animal Health and Production or any veterinary officer, to ensure that meat hygiene at the slaughter house conforms to best practices and to control livestock identification and trace-back records.

This is an Act that consolidate and amend the law relating
to customary courts. It provides for the establishment and
recognition of customary courts. It makes provision for the civil and criminal jurisdiction of customary courts and also cases outside their jurisdiction.

The regulations concern enforcement of payment of service levy imposed under section 4A of the State Land Act. Among other provisions, it is stated that interest is due on default of loans, and notice shall be issued on the occupiers who default on loans.

The act regulates the law relating to Mines and Minerals. It provides for the granting, renewal, and termination of mineral concessions, and fot the payment of royalties. The act outlines the ownership of minerals and acquisition of mineral rights, administration and powers of authorized officers, reconnaisance permits, mining leases, financials, records, as well as regulations, offences, and penalties.

An amendment of sections 2, 13, and 71 of the Mines and Minerals Act of 1977.

The regulations pertain to the open season and general conducts associated with the Mannyelanong Game Reserve. It is stipulated that the game reserve shall be opened throughout the year; while entry to, and exit from the reserve area shall be restricted to possession of authorized written permits.

The regulations are subject to the Fauna Conservation Act of Botswana. It is stipulated that the game reserve shall be opened throughout the year; while entry to, exit from, and activities conducted in the reserve area shall be restricted to possession of authorized written permits. Only approved vehicles are also allowed within the reserve area.

It is stipulated that persons appointed as honorary game officers under the appropriate sections of the Fauna Conservation Act, shall have all the powers conferred upon game officers by the act.

The regulations specify the guidelines for hunting faunas within specified areas subject to the Fauna Conservation Act. The regulations specify licenses applicable to hunting of specific animals. Hunting without licenses are punishable offences under the schedules of the regulations. Licensing fees and duties of licensing officers are also specified.

An amendment to regulation 19 of the Fauna Conservation (Unified Hunting) Regulations of 1979.

An amendment to the fourth, sixth, and seventh schedules of the Fauna Conservation (Unified Hunting) Regulations of 1979.

The Regulations impose a duty of trophy dealers to make returns in the form prescribed in the relevant schedule. The returns concern importation and exportation and local trade in trophies. Trophy dealers are also mandated to maintain a journal in the form prescribed in the relevant schedule. Trophies shall be marked by the trophy dealer in accordance with regulations herein. Trophy hunting or sport hunting is hunting of wild game for human recreation. The trophy is the animal or part of the animal kept and usually displayed, to represent the success of the hunt.

The regulations detail the specificity of permit contents and the fees payable. Permits issued in terms of the sections of the Fauna Conservation act, authorizing the capturing of animals shall specify the species and number of animals allowed to be captured.

An amendment to regulations 3, 4, and the first schedule of the Fauna Conservation (General) Regulations of 1968. The amendment also revokes regulation 6.

The act pertains to “state land” which is referred to mean unalienated and reacquired state lands. The schedule clearly interpretes the terms associated with state land and gives the President of Botswana, powers to make and execute grants and dispositions of state lands.

The Regulations are directed to national parks in Botswana, as it relates to: open seasons; entry into national parks and camping sites; motor vehicles and aircraft; boating and fishing within national parks; as well as general conduct within ational parks. National parks are areas constituted as national parks by the President of Botswana, under the National Parks Act.

The act defines the ownership of rights to the use of water. It specifies the use of public water and construction of works, casual water use, water use by owners and occupiers of land, right to water for mining and forestry purposes, and prohibition of use of water. It also makes provisions for grant of water rights, as well as revision, variation, determination, and diminution of water rights.

The regulations implement provisions of the Water Act of 1968.The regulations relate to: proceedings of the Water Apportionment Board, application under the Water Act, appeals procedure, as well details of the Advisory Boards.

The act pertains to the drilling of boreholes in Botswana and the keeping of related records and samples. The act also provides for contractors deemed to be sinkers of boreholes, inspection by geological survey, and special provisions in respect of tribal territories.

The act provides for the constitution of water authorities in townships. It confers certain duties and powers upon such water authorities, and for the acquisition of existing
waterworks.
