Scaling-Up Renewable Energy Program (SREP); Ethiopia Investment Plan

Ethiopia, Water and Energy

The investment plan spells out the probalem faced in the energy sector; the gap between the demand and supply of energy that has been persistent for about 7 years. The 5year growth and tranformation plan (GTP) for the energy sector seeks to bridge this gap by providing sufficient, reliable, and economical power supply that meets international standards. The SREP resolves to complement efforts of the GTP, as well as adhering to the principles of low carbon emission, as contained in the climate resilient green economy (CRGE)
