These guidelines are built on the electoral act 2010 that empowers the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to issue regulations, guidelines or manuals for the purpose of the conduct of the registration of voters and revision of the register of voters. Therefore, these guidelines were issued for continuous registration of voters and the updating and revision of the national register of voters.
