Diseases of Animals (Livestock Identification and Trace-back) Regulations

The regulations provide for the inspection of export slaughter houses and introduce a system of identification of cattle for purposes under the Diseases of Animals Act. Inspection of export slaughter houses may be carried out by the Director of Animal Health and Production or any veterinary officer, to ensure that meat hygiene at the slaughter house conforms to best practices and to control livestock identification and trace-back records.
