The ojectives of these guidelines are to raise awareness on sustainable consumption in Tanzania; to influence behavioural change that will help curb unsustainable consumption; and to guide consumers to make informed decision that will help foster sustainable consumption in Tanzania.

These regulations contains amendment of the 2005 Environmental Impact Assessment and Audit regulations.

This is an Act of Parliament for the continued existence of the National Environmental Management Council and for the establishment of the National Environmental Fund. The Act oulines several regulations on environmental planning, environmental management, environmental impact assessment, pollution prevention and control, waste management, environmental quality standards, environmental restoration and conservation, public compliance, and other related matters.

This Strategy has been developed in response to the growing concern of the negative impacts of climate change and climate variability on the country’s social, economic and physical environment. Its overall aim is to enhance the technical, institutional and individual capacity of the country to address the impacts of climate change. The Strategy covers adaptation, mitigation and cross-cutting interventions that will enable Tanzania the benefi t from the opportunities available to developing countries in their efforts to tackle climate change.

This regulation put certain control measures in place. The control measures include Prohibition of importation or exportation of controlled substances, prohibition of importation, exportation or dealing after prohibition date, and prohibition of importation of aerosols among others. it also provide for guidelines regulating permits.

This is an act to provide for the appointment of procuring and disposal committees in local authorities, the establishment of a Competent Authority to monitor procurement processes in local authorities and to provide for the procurement of works, supplies and services, for the disposal of public assets by local authorities and related matters.

An Act to make provision relating to the exploration for and exploitation of petroleum resources and for purposes incidental thereto

The strategy is been revised to bring it in line with the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD). It also look into the institutional frame work supporting biodiversity conservation..

This strategy was established for managing wastes. And to ensure the sustainable and the environmentally sound management of waste which would endure presevation, protection and improvement of the quality of the environment

This plan is a step toward achieving Suistainable Development by ensuring disaster risk reduction implementation in the country. it address isssues relating to man-made and natural hazards it provides a framewoek that guides stakeholders in all sectors in preparing their own disaster risk reduction and emergency management plan.

This policy establish optimum systems for dealing with disasters other than drought/famine in Botswana. The policy relate to the following; floods, veld fires, pest infestations, epidemics, animal disease, severe weather (including hailstorms and lightening strikes), refugee influxes, transport accidents, industrial explosion, urban fires, industrial pollution and chemical spillage. the list is however subjected to change

This regulation provide for environment plan and the registration, certification of practitioners and compliance with code of conduct.

The Environmental Assessment Regulations. In this regulation, mass media include publicly exhibited posters, newspaper, radio, television, or other electronic media used for public communications. This regulations provide for the registration and certification of practitioners.

This Act established the Environmental Assessment Practitioner Board. It is an Act to provide for environmental impact assessment to be used to assess the potential effect of planned developmental activities to determine and and to provide mitigation measures for effects of such activities on the environment.

It is stipulated that “No person shall remove any natural resource from Council Areas except under and in accordance with the terms and conditions of a removal of permit”. The bye-laws contain an outline of the permit application and issuance procedures.

These regulations prohibit the supply of carry bags.

The regulations apply to all animals and plants listed in the schedules of the convention. The national minister for environmental affairs is empowered to be the authority on permit issuance, maintain international trade records, coordinate national implementation and enforcement of the convention, to represent the Republic at national and international meetings, and to allocate annual quotas to provinces. The duties and responsibilities of other management bodies are expressly stated.

The NPAES is the 20 year strategy for the expansion of protected areas in South Africa. The strategy shall be periodically reviewed at 5 year intervals; the 2016 version serves as the first full revision of the 2008 NPAES. It sets the priorities for expanding the protected area network for ecological sustainability and climate change adaptation, and conservation of South Africa’s biodiversity. The 2016 update contains new biodiversity data, newly declared protected areas, updated provincial protection plans, review of performance of previously declared areas, and a description of priority activities. The expansion strategy is expected to be carried out in a cost-effective fashion. Maps of
the most important areas for the protected area expansion are set out, and recommendations are made.

The amendment notice contains redefinitions, substitution of appeals subregulations, and addition of other subregulations.
