The regulations prescribe the requirements that should be complied with for pollution prevention plans of greenhouse gases that are declared as priority air pollutants. The requirements are in terms of the section of the air quality act of 2004.

The act amends a number of other acts, including; atmospheric pollution prevention act of 1965, environment conservation act of 1989, national environmental management act of 1998, national environmental management; biodiversity act of 2004, national environmental management; air quality act of 2004, and national environmental management; protected areas act of 2003.

An outline of national invasive species in South Africa. The categories state that invasive species are species that require compulsory control.

The categories of exemptions to the restrictions are outlined. The list is specified in a tabular format with details including; scientific and common names of threatened species, and specific restricted activities.

The prohibitions listed in the notice include, collection, plucking, exportation, trade, importation, donation, and possession.

The notice operates under the biodiversity act of 2004. The Schedule contains the list of critically endangered, vulnerable and protected species.

The management plan is compiled in terms of the national environmental management act of 1998. The third edition of the EMP assesses the environmental management relevance of the policies and programmes of the department of mineral resources (DMR). The EMP harmonizes all policies and plans of the DMR to avoid duplication of projects and efforts; as it strives to create a sustainable economic growth of the mineral and mining sector.

The zonation within the marine protected area is outlined by the regulations. It is stipulated that no scientific research within the protected area shall be carried out except with a research permit issued by the Minister or the management authority of the protected area. It lists out the general restrictions within the protected area.

The regulations are under section 26 of the environment conservation act of 1989. They concern approval of undertaking of activities in the Outeniqua sensitive coastal area. The activities include: disturbance of vegetation, dredging, dune stabilisation and earthworks.

An amendment to the 2008 national environmental management: integrated coastal management act. It clarifies coastal public properties and ownership of structures on the properties, addresses provisions on reclamation, removes power of exclusion of areas from coastal public property, limits renewal of dumping permits, and replaces coastal concessions and leases with coastal use permits, among other alterations.

This involves deletion of certain species from the “protected Species” category of the list. It subsequently outlines the full list of categories.

“The notice imposes levies payable on fish and fish products in accordance with section 29 of the Sea Fishery Act of 1988. The levies concern the amount of fish caught by holders of commercial fishing rights, traditional fishing rights or the right to undertake the commercial harvesting of seaweed. The notice also defines the method of payment of the levies imposed under this notice”.

The EIMP follows from the national environmental management act. The act requires all organs with the responsibility of managing the environment to prepare environmental implementation plans. The EIMP lays out ways by which the department of environmental affairs coordinates and harmonises the environmental policies, plans, programmes and decisions of the department in its exercise of its functions, to avoid ineffective resource allocation and use.

The regulations specify the qualification criteria and trainings for encironmental management inspectors, mandates, issuance of identity cards, contents and period of validity of the identity cards, duties of departments, and compliance notice.

The notice is made under the environment conservation act of 1989. It identifies the activities that poses substantial detrimental effect on the environment in the specific coastal areas under review.

Subject to the world heritage convention act of 1999, it is proclaimed that; the Mapungubwe cultural landcape is a world heritage site.

These are regulations to direct the procedures contained in chapter 5 of the national environmental management act of 1998, for the submission, processing,
consideration and decision of applications for environmental authorisation of
activities. Applications related to the regulations are decided by competent authorities.

These norms apply to the hunting of all wild and alien animals. They are set out to ensure standardization of hunting methods. The specifications for hunting detailed in the notice include; minimum bullet weights for rifle hunting, minimum bullet weights and barrel lengths for handgun hunting, permissible bows for bow hunting, minimum requirements for bow hunting, minimum requirements for falconry, criteria to be met by gamebirds for inclusion in provincial hunting proclamations.

The strategy sets the priorities for expanding the protected area network for ecological sustainability and climate change adaptation, and conservation of South Africa’s biodiversity. Over five years, it intends to add more than 2 million hectares to the land-based protected area network, and more than 80 km to the inshore marine protected area network, in order to achieve the country’s protected area targets. The expansion strategy is expected to be carried out in a cost-effective fashion. Maps of
the most important areas for the protected area expansion are set out, and recommendations are made.

The entire Agulhas front marine protected area is zoned as a single restricted zone which is determined by using World Geodetic System (WGS) of 1984. The regulations stipulate that no scientific research within the protected area shall be carried out except with a research permit issued by the Minister. It lists out the general restrictions within the protected area.
