The main objective of setting standards for the Nigerian Poultry industry is to put in motion a procedure for providing wholesome Animal products for human consumption. This procedure sets maximal standards to minimize the potential food safety hazards associated with livestock production and processing. It also recognizes the major elements in the production process and identifies Food Safety objectives for the different Activities along the value chain.
