National Water Resources Policy

The policy was designed to foster the integrated management of water resources for optimum, sustainable, efficient and equitable water resources development and management in order to meet the current and future user water demand, conserve the water quality and protect the environment. The specific objectives of the water resources policy are to optimize the use of nation’s water resources at all times, to improve and expand the delivery of water services in an equitable manner, to prevent the over-exploitation of groundwater and protect its quality and facilitate the exchange of water sector information.
